Engineers and Geoscientists BC Student Program is looking for volunteer presenters who showcase the diversity of our professions and are passionate about engaging with post-secondary engineering or geoscience students. Presenters are encouraged to share their knowledge, career anecdotes, and advice to the next generation of the profession.
- Create a 15–30 minute presentation;
- Be comfortable presenting to undergraduate and graduate audiences in a virtual format;
- Provide insight into your role as an engineer/geoscientist (i.e., What you do day-to-day, what your industry looks like, why you chose this type of engineering/geoscience, etc.); and
- Be your unique self, and showcase what’s fun and cool about engineering and geoscience!
- The time commitment varies depending on your availability. On average, there are 10-15 presentation opportunities throughout the year.
- A minimum of one presentation.
- Registrants in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC in one of the following capacities:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.)
- Trainees (EIT/GIT)
- Professional Licensee (P.L.Eng./P.L.Geo.)
- Passionate about what you do.
- Experience with presenting to students an asset.
- Experience presenting virtually to a group also an asset.
- Registrants in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC in one of the following capacities:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.)
- Trainees (EIT/GIT)
- Professional Licensee (P.L.Eng./P.L.Geo.)
- Passionate about what you do.
- Experience with presenting to students an asset.
- Experience presenting virtually to a group also an asset.
- Opportunity to support BC’s engineering and geoscience students;
- Earn eligible CE Hours and Engineers and Geoscientists BC service awards; and
- Volunteer appreciation.
