As a regulator, it is Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s responsibility to clearly demonstrate to the public that a member is no longer practicing. Utilizing a restricted title, such as P.Eng. (Non-Practising) or P.Eng. (Retired), provides clear recognition for the public as to whether a member is licensed to practice engineering or geoscience. This aligns with the practices of several other professions that utilize restricted titles for those who are no longer practising the profession.
