Forest Engineering Award of Excellence Nomination Procedures

The 2022 Forest Engineering Award of Excellence will be presented by the Association of BC Forest Professionals

The Forest Engineering Award of Excellence—sponsored jointly by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia and the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP)—recognizes excellence and promotes cooperation and leadership in forest engineering in the broadest sense. Nominees may be individuals, organizations or associations responsible for projects that demonstrate or represent outstanding accomplishments in forest engineering. Individuals must be registrants of either ABCFP or Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Organizations and associations must be recognized as being associated with professional forestry, professional engineering or professional geoscience.

Nominations Packages

Nominations must centre around outstanding accomplishments that involve project work, cooperation, and leadership. Examples of submissions that qualify include:

  • The life work of an individual;
  • Organizations that have demonstrated excellence in this field;
  • Projects that have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in forest engineering; or
  • Academic or research contributionto the field of forest engineering.

For project submissions to be eligible, projects must have been completed within the past 2 years and carried out by, or under the supervision of, a registrant of either organization. Nominees must be either residents of BC or work for a BC-based firm, or the work must have been carried out in BC.

The award is presented annually and alternates between Engineers and Geoscientists BC and ABCFP. Nominations should be submitted to [email protected].
