Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Senior Manager, Engineering Services is part of the Department's leadership team and provides senior level support and direction to Managers and Superintendents. The Senior Manager works in partnership with the Director to provide clear vision and support to Engineering Services as a whole and is accountable for achieving departmental outcomes and managing risk across a broad set of priorities related to Capital Planning and Project Delivery, Asset Management, Climate Resiliency and Adaptation, Emergency Management, Safety and Operations.
This position requires a degree in civil engineering or related field and registration or immediate eligibility with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. The preferred candidate will have at least 7 years of progressive supervisory, team leadership and administrative experience in engineering services with extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure and strategic asset management strategies. The position requires the interpretation of local government legislation, bylaws, and policies with the ability to collaborate, engage and innovate. The position requires an inclusive and strategic leader with skills and experience managing unionized teams. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
