A challenging opportunity exists with the Engineering, Parks & Facilities Division for a Project Engineer – Facilities. Your primary responsibilities will be to provide professional oversight and project management for a range of technical projects and initiatives relating to the reliability and performance (both comfort and energy) of our municipal buildings. Projects will include major maintenance, renewal, upgrading, energy optimization, and commissioning of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and controls. You will be responsible for delivering projects within scope, on schedule, and within approved budgets. You will provide professional engineering advice and support that is both technical and practical in nature to the Facilities team and building user groups with respect to building systems and performance. This position also involves the review and analysis of overall building operations to improve occupant comfort and identify opportunities to improve energy savings; as well as oversight of building commissioning/re-commissioning activities.
The ideal candidate will be a professional engineer, or be eligible for registration as a professional engineer in a related discipline with significant relevant experience in project management and building performance, based on sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and the principles of energy management.
