As the Landfill and Compost Operations Manager you will be responsible for operations management of the City of Kelowna Landfill and both yard-waste and bio-solids composting operations.

You will plan, organize, lead, and control landfill and compost operations. You will develop branch goals, standards, partnerships, policies, and procedures to ensure sustainable, safe, and efficient utilization of financial, human, and physical resources. You will provide input and professional expertise related to overall Branch strategic plans, objectives, and goals; as well as be a representative of the Branch to City Council. You will actively participate on corporate teams as required and be responsible for compliance with all regulatory, policy, and legal infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications include a post-secondary degree in engineering, science, agriculture or other applicable technical discipline. A minimum of 3 years leadership and management experience in the field of solid waste management with some relevant experience in compost operations. With excellent communications, project management, and people skills; you will build teams and relationships, foster collaboration, and effectively resolve problems or conflict with customers, contractors, staff, and stakeholders to deliver safe and superior service to the public.
