To comply with the CE Program, professional registrants must complete requirements in their online account between July 1 and June 30 each year.

2022–2023 Requirements

The deadline to complete all three annual requirements and submit your declaration is June 30, 2023:

CE Plan templates and examples are available from our Resources page. When completing the CE declaration during Annual Reporting, practising registrants will be asked to verify their completed CE Plan. CE Plans are to be saved in your personal files for 10 years.

CE Program Requirements

There are three fundamental components of the CE Program:

Annual Requirements

In every reporting year, professional registrants must:

  • Complete the Mandatory Regulatory Module
  • Record 1 Hour of Ethical Learning
  • Complete a CE Plan

Three-Year Rolling Period

The first 3-year rolling period will start on July 1, 2021 and end on June 30, 2024. A new 3-year rolling period starts on the first day of each reporting year. In each period, professional registrants must:

  • Record 60 CE Hours of activities (20 hours per year on average)
  • Designated structural engineers must record an additional 60 CE Hours of Technical Learning directly related to their structural engineering practice

CE Declaration

Every reporting year between May 1 and June 30, professional registrants must:

  • Submit a declaration confirming all CE requirements have been completed.
  • The declaration is completed in the Annual Reporting System.

Failure to complete the CE requirements and/or submit Annual Reporting may result in late fees, suspension, and cancellation.

Registrants are not required to retroactively complete a CE Plan. If selected for a Compliance Audit, you will be asked to explain the gaps between your CE Plans; for this reason, we recommend drafting your CE Plan for the next 12-month right away and then start undertaking CE activities in alignment with your Plan.
