This workshop deals with uniform interpretation of the British Columbia Building Code – Part 7 Plumbing Services.
This workshop will cover more complex drainage, waste and vent (DWV) systems and water pipe sizing exercises. The DWV component includes circuit venting and high buildings, and the water pipe sizing covers commercial, mixed use buildings and multi-tenant buildings. Common deficiencies within all of these systems are also presented.

James Nyhus – City of Port Moody, Senior Building Official
James Nyhus is currently Senior Building Official for the City of Port Moody. James has been inspecting plumbing and sprinkler systems for 12 years and has been employed in the construction industry since 1977. James holds a plumbing TQ (1982), Class A gasfitters license (1985), Cross Connection Control Certificate, Plumbing Officials’ of B.C. Level 2 Certification and Building Officials’ Association of B.C. Level 3 - RBO Certification. He was also Chair of the Lower Mainland Plumbing Code Committee from 2009 to 2012.
