Laurie Daschuk, Meeting Facilitator – Stop the Presses

Laurie graduated from University of Alberta in 1989 with a double major in Economics and Political Science. She joined the staff of Health and Welfare Canada as a Pension Analyst. One day she was asked to fill in for a colleague and present a ‘Pension Seminar’ and was hooked! Laurie then found her path as a ‘Communications and Community Consultation Coordinator’ with Human Resources Development Canada. In 1994 she started “Stop the Presses” and consulted with businesses and organizations to improve internal/external communications and marketing efforts. Laurie has a special interest in consensus decision-making, professional development, focus groups and board development. Laurie currently works with several organizations including Fraser Valley Estate Planning Council, The Estate Planning Council of Abbotsford, The Fraser Valley Chartered Accountants Association, The Fraser Valley Tax Technical Group and the Walnut Grove Business Association.
