The Science of Productivity: Practical Applications in the Workplace Seminar. In this lively session, Dawn Groves will share the latest behaviour science research designed to help you let go of outdated, unproductive work habits. Whether it’s for yourself or your staff, Dawn will share how to lessen unproductive behaviour by strengthening new, laborsaving practices that make take advantage of today’s workplace. You’ll get the facts, set up a change management strategy, and get busy doing it. Dawn’s no-nonsense approach is tailor made for knowledge workers who require a contemporary approach that’s also grounded in solid research. Documentation as well as technical and online resources included in the presentation.

The Morning: Managing Energy, not Time
Armed with the latest productivity research, participants will create an action plan for renewing and sustaining the energy to work better, smarter, and more efficiently. They will understand why willpower and old-school time management practices simply cannot succeed anymore. They will also connect the dots between their core values, their interests in career achievement, and their exasperation with demands at work and home. Most important, participants will leave with fresh enthusiasm for the possibilities of 1) changing unproductive habits, 2) sustaining optimal performance in the workplace, and 3) feeling better about life in general.

The Afternoon: Applications in the Workplace
Participants will understand how their current workflow management methods drain energy and focus. They will take action items from the morning session and develop strategies for restructure that maximize time and energy. Critical to the successful implementation of these processes, participants will also learn how build energy reserves by better managing stress and pressure. They will leave the seminar with more than a clearly outlined path from chaos to order; they’ll also know how to sustain the enthusiasm and motivation to implement it. In short, they’ll know how to be more efficient, creative, productive, and happier within their current circumstances.

Dawn Groves - Einblau & Associates

Dawn Groves is an author and senior consultant with Einblau & Associates focusing on workflow effectiveness, team strategy & communications, and digital efficiency. She is also a qualified Strength Deployment Inventory facilitator. A sought-after presenter and teacher, Dawn began her career as a software engineer working on satellite-to-submarine communications. Later, she published several books on lifestyle management and computer topics. After moving to Bellingham, WA, she began teaching and consulting for local educational institutions. Dawn maintains an active online presence while developing content and doing research. Her work has been quoted in print publications such as Professional Excellence, Success Magazine, and Bottom Line Personal. Currently Dawn consults with city government services and private industries in the USA and Canada. Her work and counsel is grounded in the latest neuroscientific research on workplace efficiency. A mother of two teenagers, she manages her energy by sea kayaking and teaching tai chi.
