Improving Team Effectiveness Seminar. In the engineering and geoscience professions, communication is everything. We need to effectively communicate with team members and clients and ensure that programs and projects are delivered on time and on-budget. Communication is also the key to a balanced and enjoyable work and personal life. The best teams are composed of people with a variety of different skill sets and personalities. However, without mutual respect and strong communication between team members it is difficult to leverage those differences to create a truly high functioning team with minimal conflict.

In this interactive and hands on workshop, we will teach practical real-world methods for recognizing and getting the most out of the four different behavioural styles.  We will use a variety of interactive exercise to improve both self-understanding and understanding of others.  We will also explore how each of the styles relates to and contributes to group dynamics.
This workshop is for engineers, geoscientists, leaders and managers who want to get the best performance out of their teams.  Anyone who is part of a team and wants to improve their own communication and leadership skills can benefit from this full day event.
Benefits of the workshop:
  • More positive, motivated staff, harmonious work environment, decreased attrition
  • Brand recognition and awareness in the marketplace
  • Increased levels of engagement with clients and employees
  • Improved customer satisfaction and retention
  • Increased productivity
  • Develop a common language for the organization
On completion , course participants will:
  • Understand the four different behavioural styles and the value that each one brings to the team
  • Increased self-knowledge: how to respond to conflict, motivation, causes of stress, problem solving
  • Be able to identify the core behavioural style of other members of their team and how to adapt their own style to better communicate and reduce conflict
  • Have improved ability to foster constructive and creative group interactions, facilitate better teamwork, and minimize team conflict
  • Manage more effectively by understanding the dispositions and priorities of employees and team members
