Leading and Adapting to Change Seminar. This seminar, for Engineers and Geoscientists, is focused on preparing you to manage change and to lead and mentor others through change. You'll understand the impacts change has on employees, and what you need to do manage resistance to change. Through a series of hands-on workshops, you'll develop a deeper understanding on what is involved in successfully adapting to and implementing change.
 
Do you feel that change is ever constant and that you’re struggling to keep up? Are you looking for practical tools and approaches that you can take in adapting to change and transitions? Do you want to learn how to successfully lead projects that involve significant changes?
 
This seminar, for Engineers and Geoscientists, is focused on preparing you to manage change and to lead and mentor others through change. You’ll understand the impacts change has on employees, and what you need to do manage resistance to change. Through a series of hands-on workshops, you’ll develop a deeper understanding on what is involved in successfully adapting to and implementing change.
 
Objectives
 
In this seminar, you'll:
  • Understand the impact change and transitions have on you and your employees
  • Learn how to adapt to and be resilient to change, whether the change is from a people, process, or technology transformation
  • Develop approaches to managing and leading change
  • Use pragmatic tools to help you with anticipating and addressing resistance to change, engaging with stakeholders, and facilitating change
 
Target Audience
 
Engineers and Geoscientists who are involved in or lead projects. This session is designed for professionals who want to better understand how to adapt to changes and also how to lead others more effectively.
 
Presenter
 
Eric Tung, MA – Principal Consultant, Prolepsis Consulting
 
Eric Tung has a Master of Arts in English from the University of British Columbia. He is an English Instructor at the UBC Writing Centre, where he teaches academic, professional, and business writing courses, including Writing for Engineers in the Workplace, a course designed specifically for engineers. He is also an Instructor at Simon Fraser University, where he teaches Business Communications at the Beedie School of Business. As a Principal Consultant at Prolepsis Consulting, Eric designs and delivers customized business, proposal, and technical writing workshops to various organizations, including engineering and consulting firms.
Eric is also a Change Management Consultant and specializes in change management strategy and implementation, stakeholder engagement, coaching, facilitation, instructional design, training, and technical and business communications. He has extensive experience in the municipal, utilities, academic, and technical sectors.
