Reducing Transportation Greenhouse Gas: BC's Renewable and Low Carbon Fuel Regulations Webinar. A transformation of Canada's transportation fuels sector is underway - the market is shifting to cleaner alternative and renewable fuel options. Market demand was firmly established by 2010, with the introduction of Canada's first Renewable Fuel Standards for renewable diesel fuels in British Columbia and Manitoba. The new regulations have already delivered measurable results in terms of greenhouse gas reductions, and opened up new market opportunities for sector participants.

The session will review British Columbia’s renewable and low carbon fuel regulations, with a focus on renewable diesel fuel options, greenhouse gas reductions, fuel quality, engine warranties, competition, fuel pricing, feedstocks and key sustainability issues, such as food security and land impacts.

Waterfall Advisors Group Ltd. partners, Doug Hooper, P.Geo., Fred Ghatala and Ian Thomson will jointly present the session. Waterfall Group is a leader in natural resource and clean energy consulting in Canada, with a core expertise in clean energy projects and industry development. The company works with industry leaders, governments and civil society interests to implement transformative market-based policies, such as renewable and low carbon fuel standards, carbon trading and sustainability verification systems, to create market access for low carbon bio-energy products. The expertise of the Waterfall Group touches on all aspects of the renewable fuel sector - from project assessment to development, and from policy definition to regulatory implementation.
