This course is designed to offer participants an introduction to the processes and technologies involved in polymer manufacturing. The participants will obtain an overview of thermoplastic materials as well as the background knowledge of the polymer applications in the daily life.

Dr Shokoh Fatahi Ph D. in Polymer Processing has over 25 years of experience in technology development, research engineering, conceptual process design, detailed process design, project management, and commissioning/start-up of petrochemical and polymer industries. She is also a present member of scientific papers in the international journals and presentations in Chili, Canada, the US, and Japan, including Journal of International Polymer Processing and Journal of Polymer Engineering & Science. She is actively involved with many professional organizations such as Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Canadian Society For Chemical Engineering (CSChE), and Society of Plastics Engineering (SPE). Further, she has been an active lead in the “Women in Engineering committees”, Young Engineers/Professionals Society (YES), and provide mentoring and training.
