Technology, Process, Application in Polymer Industry Workshop. This course is designed to offer participants an introduction to the processes and technologies involved in polymer manufacturing. The participants will obtain an overview of thermoplastic materials as well as the background knowledge of the polymer applications in the daily life.


After attending the seminar the attendants will be able to:

Description
This course is designed to offer participants an introduction to the processes and technologies involved in polymer manufacturing. The participants will obtain an overview of thermoplastic materials as well as the background knowledge of the polymer applications in the daily life. 
 
Objectives 
The knowledge or techniques from the real world based on the practical experiences will be shared and it will enable the participants to gain knowledge on industrial applications of the polymers.  
 
Who Should Attend
The course is taught at advanced level but starts at a level that no prior knowledge of polymer is required. The material can be understood readily by science and engineering graduates and by appropriately qualified technicians. The course is also suitable for sales and managerial personnel who have a scientific background and are seeking an appreciation of the introduction on polymer application.

Instructor
Dr Shokoh Fatahi Ph D. in Polymer Processing has over 25 years of experience in technology development, research engineering, conceptual process design, detailed process design, project management, and commissioning/start-up of petrochemical and polymer industries. She is also a present member of scientific papers in the international journals and presentations in Chili, Canada, the US, and Japan, including Journal of International Polymer Processing and Journal of Polymer Engineering & Science. She is actively involved with many professional organizations such as Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Canadian Society For Chemical Engineering (CSChE), and Society of Plastics Engineering (SPE). Further, she has been an active lead in the “Women in Engineering committees”, Young Engineers/Professionals Society (YES), and provide mentoring and training.
