MED Spring Seminar & Tour 2014: Vancouver Convention Centre, 3D Printing.

The Municipal Engineers Division is providing a broad range of programs in this morning seminar happening Thursday, April 3rd at the Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC). We are offering three tour times starting at 8:00 AM; 11:00 AM or 12:00 (noon).  Presentations will take place between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Groups of 20 will take a rare behind the scenes tour of the Vancouver Convention Centre exploring this architectural landmark and its green technology. This seminar and tour will include:

• A demonstration of 3D printing technology
• Central Plant – Chillers, Pumps, Heat Exchangers (water and steam)
• Black Water Treatment Plant, including Reverse Osmosis Salt Water Recovery unit
• Sea Water Island – Pumps, Filtration related to building cooling, no cooling towers
• 25K West Mechanical Room – Main HVAC Distribution for the facility
 
Topics will also include large infrastructure affecting municipalities.  Representatives from Neenah Foundry will also be on site displaying the latest in cast infrastructure.   Each tour is one hour and limited to 20 registrants.  A total of 60 may take the tour.

Time:
- Seminar from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Tour #1 at 8:00 AM; Tour #2 at 11:00 AM; Tour #3 at 12:00 (noon). 
- Lunch extends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM to accommodate the lunch time tours.

Location: Vancouver Convention Centre, 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver BC.

Cost: $85.

Registration: When registering online, please indicate your preferred tour time a) Tour #1 from 8:00 AM-9:00 AM; b) Tour #2 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM; or c) Tour # 3 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM.
