MED Bike Tour - July 25, 2014.

Dear MED members:

This year we have arranged for a cycling tour of the recently completed All Ages & Abilities cycling routes in Vancouver on Friday, July 25th. In addition, cyclists will stop at the South East False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility for a tour of the system’s main plant.

On this tour, you will see and experience several new municipal transportation and other infrastructure facilities, including:
• Tour of South East False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility Plant
• Dunsmuir & Hornby Separated Cycling Facilities
• Comox-Helmcken Greenway
• Seaside Greenway Completion (Point Grey-Cornwall Cycling Route & Burrard/Cornwall Intersection)
• Nelson Park Automated Public Toilet

The tour will generally follow cycling routes that have been designed to be comfortable for people of all ages and abilities, however, the route is of a moderate length of 15-20km with several breaks along the way. Bikes will be provided. In addition, a small number of electric power assist bicycles will also be available for those interested. Please register as soon as possible to secure your spot on the tour.

Following the tour, the group will convene in Yaletown for lunch.

Important: You must bring a government issued picture ID (e.g. driver’s license or passport) for security purposes.
