APEGBC Northern Branch Field Trip (Tour) of Surficial Geology in the Terrace-Kitimat Area.

Announcing a one-day field trip with Dr. John Clague, PhD, P.Geo. happening on Monday, May 5th, 2014. This guided trip will be carried out to provide an introduction to the surficial geology of the Terrace-Kitimat area, and will build on his earlier presentation on the evening of May 4th. We will be taken on a guided tour of  several features including landslides, fans, and soil exposures between Terrace and Kitimat.  Transportation to the sites will be by passenger van. This event is open to the public, and is being put on by the APEGBC Northern Branch and Northwest Community College members.

Time:   9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Cost:   $10 for transportation, and incidentals

Schedule (Tentative): 9:00 AM meet at the Northwest Community College (NWCC) parking lot.  The field trip will concentrate on sites extending from Terrace south towards Airport Hill, Lakelse Lake and towards Kitimat.  We are planning to return to the NWCC parking area at 3:00 PM.
