Learn about the points of Law and Ethics that are critical to your practice as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist. This seminar will provide an overview of occupational health and safety, employment law, practical law, the professions, practice review, APEGBC's discipline and enforcement process, code of ethics, and case studies.

Please note that this seminar is not a prepartory class for the Professional Practice Exam. If you have any questions about the exam, textbooks, registration or your file, please contact our Registration Department at [email protected] or click here.

All applicants for registration as professional engineers, professional geoscientists or limited license in British Columbia are required to complete the Law and Ethics program.

This requirement may be met in one of two ways:
  1. by attending the Law & Ethics seminar in person (please see registration options below);
    or
  2. by purchasing and viewing the DVD version of the Law & Ethics seminar. Upon completion, the candidate must sign a declaration that he/she has viewed the contents of the DVD set in their entirety. For more information or to purchase the DVD set, please click here
The Law & Ethics FAQ provides more information on the requirement to complete the Law and Ethics program for professional registration.

Please note that registering for the Law & Ethics Seminar will not automatically register you for the Professional Practice Exam.

The Professional Practice exam is scheduled over the course of three days, from January 11 to 13, 2015.  The final date to register for the January Professional Practice Exam is November 10, 2015.

Please note that this seminar is not a preparatory course for the Professional Practice Exam. You may take this seminar at any point during your registration process.  The seminar is offered four times a year.
