Project managers and supervisors have a lot to worry about when it comes to planning and controlling their projects. They need to plan their project schedule and cost in order to track project deadlines and budgets through proper forecasting and enhanced project schedule and cost management tools and techniques. Project Planning, Scheduling, and Cost Control is designed to provide you with the knowledge and tools to improve your skills and capabilities to properly plan and control all your project tasks on time and within budget.

Objectives
The objective of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge required to effectively plan and control project time and budget. This course will provide the participants with the basic tools and techniques necessary to effectively plan and control a project and the participants will be able to immediately apply those project management principles back at work

Learning Goals
  • Use a step-by-step approach for effective project planning and control to complete multiple project tasks on time and on budget
  • Comprehend  the concepts, techniques, and tools of project planning and cost control
  •  Use different approaches to develop a proper work breakdown structure, as an essential element of project scheduling, cost estimation and cost control
  • Develop a list of project tasks and apply Scheduling Network Diagrams to build a project schedule
  • Learn the basic types of task relationships, lags, leads, and floats.
  • Understand the concept of the critical path method and apply it to your project tasks
  • Be able to load and optimize your schedule using the concepts of resource loading and leveling
  • Improve your estimation capabilities of project costs and understand the elements of a typical project budget
  • Establish performance measurement cost baselines
  • Improve overall project management tracking and cost control functions
  • Control project costs through special methods, tools, and techniques, such as variance analysis and Earned Value Method
  • Understand the concept of risk management and contingencies.
