From GM to Amazon and Google, engineers and technical leaders have founded and managed some of the most successful businesses to date. Contrary to their stereotypical depiction as introverted technical geeks, engineers have inherent qualities most suitable for creating startup success.

This presentation will discuss the important role engineers play as founders of innovative companies, and debunk misconceptions that inhibit many engineers from entrepreneurship. The presentation will also discuss the necessary first steps to transform an idea into a startup, and share a set of basic tools for validating and evolving a business idea.
