Construction for the Evergreen Line is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2016. The new Skytrain line includes a two-kilometre bored tunnel with tunnel portals located in Port Moody and Coquitlam. The bored tunnel is being constructed using a 10-metre diameter tunnel boring machine (TBM) nicknamed Alice. Preparation for tunnel boring began in March 2014 with set-up of the tunnel boring work area near Barnet Highway and View Street in Port Moody (aka the North Portal). The main tunnel boring activity began in June 2014 and excavation completion is expected by the end of 2015.
