This seminar prepares you to manage change and to lead and mentor others through transformations, both small and large in scale. You’ll understand the impacts change has on employees, and what you need to do manage resistance. Through a series of hands-on workshops, you’ll learn how to assess your employees’ readiness levels, facilitate effective stakeholder sessions, identify and mitigate risk, and lead successful change projects.

Seminar Description

Do you feel that change is ever constant for you and your organization? Are you looking for practical tools and approaches that you can take in adapting to change and transitions? Do you want to learn how to successfully lead projects and that involve significant changes?

This seminar prepares you to manage change and to lead and mentor others through transformations, both small and large in scale. You’ll understand the impacts change has on employees, and what you need to do manage resistance. Through a series of hands-on workshops, you’ll learn how to assess your employees’ readiness levels, facilitate effective stakeholder sessions, identify and mitigate risk, and lead successful change projects.

Objectives

In this seminar, you'll: 

  • Understand the impact change and transitions have on you and your employees
  • Learn how to adapt to and be resilient to change, whether from a people, process, or technology transformation
  • Use specific methodologies and tools to develop and implement a change management strategy 
  • Understand how to assess your organization’s readiness levels, engage with stakeholders, and manage and address risk and resistance

Target Audience

Engineers and geoscientists who are involved in or lead projects, or manage staff. This session is designed for professionals who want to better understand how to adapt to changes and how to lead others more effectively.

Presenter

Eric Tung, MA – Principal Consultant, Prolepsis Consulting

Eric Tung has a Master of Arts in English from the University of British Columbia (UBC). He is an English Instructor at the UBC Writing Centre, where he teaches academic, professional, and business writing courses. Some of the courses he teaches include Report and Business Writing, Writing Proposals, and Writing for Engineers in the Workplace. He is also an Instructor at Simon Fraser University, where he teaches Business Communications at the Beedie School of Business. 

As a Principal Consultant at Prolepsis Consulting, Eric designs and delivers customized business, proposal, and technical writing workshops to various organizations, including engineering and consulting firms. He advises firms on their communications strategy, and writes proposals and business plans for his clients.

Eric is also a Business Transformation and Change Management Consultant, specializing in change management strategy and implementation, stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness assessments, leadership coaching, facilitation, instructional design, training, and technical and business communications.
