Manager, Examinations, Geoscience Registration and Member-in-Training Program
Note that the EIT/GIT experience reporting system and process has changed considerably over the past few years, and this session will go over the current requirements.
Jason Ong is the Manager for Member-in-Training Programs for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing the internship periods for Engineers-in-Training and Geoscientists-in-Training. This involves processing applications as well as maintaining the EIT/GIT Online Experience Reporting System. He also currently oversees all applications for Professional Geoscience licensure and coordinates the Professional Practice Examination.
This session is most beneficial to those who have not yet received their Professional Engineering designation. If you are already registered as a P.Eng., we encourage you to join us after the presentation concludes at 8:00 PM.
Registration and light refreshments before the presentation will be found in the Mezzanine, also known as the WestStone Group Grand Hall, and is the main level of the campus. It is accessible by both roof top parking and Central City mall north enterances.
The presentation will take place in the lecture theatre.
After the presentation, the networking portion of the event will take place at Central City Brew Pub, adjacent to SFU Surrey. Appetizers will be served. Guests may purchase beverages and additional food from the pub's menu.
Visitor parking is available on level P5 of the parkade for guests coming to SFU Surrey for lectures and special events. Parking costs $1 per hour, or $7 for the entire day from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Late night rate is $4 from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Signs are posted indicating the pay parking area on P5. The pay meters are in the elevator vestibule on P5. The pay meters accept coins or credit cards. There is also a Pay By Phone option. Instructions are posted at the pay meter.
