APEGBC's primary duty to public protection has spurred discussion of regulating engineering and geoscience corporations. This webinar is a collaborative opportunity for association members and stakeholders alike to learn about the issues and considerations involved in APEGBC's evaluation of corporate practice and regulation, and to provide consultation into this issue that is important to us all.

Council established an Advisory Task Force on Corporate Practice to guide the processes of exploration and evaluation, and member and stakeholder consultation. The Task Force is conducting a comprehensive review of the issue, consisting of: the history of corporate regulation, associated legislation, and an assessment of existing regulatory models in Canada and elsewhere. After considering all input, the Task Force will deliver a final recommendation to Council in spring 2017. At that point, Council will then consider whether or not to seek regulatory authority over corporate practice in BC.

The webinar serves as a companion piece to the Discussion Paper on corporate practice which will be released for member and stakeholder consultation on September 26, 2016.  For more information on this topic and consultation opportunities, please visit our corporate practice webpage.
