APEGBC Central Interior Branch invites you to a presentation on UNBC's Master of Engineering in Integrated Wood Design and a tour of the Wood Innovation Design Centre. In addition, APEGBC Vice-President Bob Stewart, P.Eng. will provide an update on APEGBC Council.

Light refreshements and appetizers will be provided.


Dr. Guido Wimmers
Chair, Engineering Graduate Program, UNBC

 Dr. Guido Wimmers holds a master degree in architecture and a PhD in building science from the University of Innsbruck. Prior to moving to Canada in 2007 he was head of the building science department of Energie Tirol and worked on Passive House Projects in Austria, Germany, and Italy including large nonresidential buildings and was involved in various research projects in the field of massive timber construction, extreme energy efficient buildings and prefabricated building envelopes. Since in Canada, Guido has been invited to share his refreshing expertise with students of UBC, SFU and BCIT at lectures, worked with UBC students on their master theses and has given numerous seminars and talks about the next leap in building technology at forums, and international conventions including the GLOBE convention, the CAGBC summit, ICBEST, BCBEC and Canadian Wood Council fairs. 

Bob Stewart, P.Eng.
Vice President, APEGBC

R.P. (Bob) Stewart, P.Eng., is the Principal Engineer in Electrical, Generation Engineering at BC Hydro. Previously, Mr. Stewart worked as divisional manager in various departments at BC Hydro, as well as senior maintenance and operations services manager at GM Shrum Generation Station. Mr. Stewart has volunteered with APEGBC in various capacities, including serving as an Experience Reviewer, Member and Assessor with the Competency-Based Application Assessment Team and as a member of the EIT Competency-Based Application Group.

Mr. Stewart earned his bachelor degree in electrical engineering from UBC in 1981. He has received awards recognizing his work and community service, including the Bob Elton Safety by Design Award and the Ken Spafford Mentorship Award.
