College of the Rockies - 2700 College Way, Cranbrook, BC
$10 (See below for information on how to register)
March 2016 is “National Engineering and Geoscience Month” (NEGM). This is an annual initiative to raise awareness of the engineering and geoscience professions across Canada. The month-long event is meant to highlight the various academic and career choices in these professions while reminding the public about the important role that these professions play in our society.
Annually, the APEGBC East Kootenay Branch crushes bridges for fun and prizes. Gathering at the College of Rockies as part of the excitement of the East Kootenay Regional Science Fair, entries from elementary and middle school students are put to the test using our Bridge Breaker. Bridges are entered by individuals or teams, and prizes are awarded for the bridge able to take the most stress as recorded by the digital measurements. Cheering sections, photos, and videos all add to the fun!
