Note: Attendees should wear winter rated footwear, no open toed shoes. Please wear warm clothes as the tour will be partially outside.

Please join the Peace River Branch for an extended lunch at the Northern Lights College, Fort St. John campus to learn about their connections and services to the communities we work in, and to explore their oil and gas training facilities. See below for details.

Some of the topics that will be discussed during the event are the Northern Lights College's trades and apprenticeship, oil and gas, and dual-credit programs.

The tour of the campus will include the mechanic, instrumentation, and electrical labs. The tour of the oil and gas well site will involve an interactive class that will visit the Northern Lights College’s drilling and service rig and feature some unique interactive activities including flare stack pilot ignition and pipeline pigging.

About the College

Northern Lights College is a member of British Columbia Colleges (BC Colleges), a provincial group comprised of 11 colleges from throughout the Province of British Columbia. 

The Northern Lights College opened the Jim Kassen Industries Training Centre on the Fort St. John Campus in 2007. The building provides new facilities for a number of trades, apprenticeship, and technologies programs, and is also the home to the provincial Centre of Training Excellence in Oil and Gas. The Centre of Excellence is designed to develop provincial guidelines to ensure the training of workers for the oil and gas industries.
