This session will introduce you to the concept of leadership communication. You will learn to see every communication as an opportunity and will understand the importance of approaching every opportunity with intent. You will also learn how to structure your communication in such a way that it will engage your audience and position you as a leader inside your organization. This introductory 1.5-hour webinar will focus on some fundamental concepts that will be expanded on during following sessions: Speaking as a Leader® and Business Influenceÿ.

Agenda

Adopt the Leader’s Mindset: 9:00AM - 9:30AM

  • Approach every conversation, meeting, and presentation as an opportunity to lead.
  • The link between leadership and communication.

 Organize Your Thoughts: The Leader’s Script®: 9:30AM - 10:20AM

  • Effective communication comes from organized thought.
  • Before you pick up the phone or write an email:
    • Define your topic.
    • Articulate a core message.
    • Close with a call to action.

Workshop: Participants will create an outline for an upcoming communication (i.e. a call with a client, conversation with a colleague) where they wish to influence and inspire action.

Mr. Demetrios Nicolaides
The Humphrey Group

Demetrios is an associate for our firm. He helps leaders strengthen their communication through group courses and private one-on-one coaching. Demetrios has coached executives in the agricultural, energy and medical sectors and has helped them move toward an inspirational style of communication. For Demetrios, the most important part of his work is helping his clients find practical solutions to real problems.

As an expert in the area of dispute resolution, Demetrios has worked with a wide range of senior business to leaders, to help them communicate in challenging situations and navigate emotional realities. He has worked in preparing witnesses for arbitration, as well as regulatory hearings and helps his clients master the art of answering questions. Demetrios loves to teach and his clients have consistently commented on his poise and calm demeanor.

Demetrios received his BA in International Relations from the University of Calgary and received his MA in Conflict Studies. Demetrios also holds a PhD in Political Science, specializing in conflict resolution. He is also an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
