APEGBC is hosting a Student and Industry Night at UBC. This fun and casual evening provides a great opportunity for industry professionals to share their knowledge, career anecdotes, and advice with earth science and engineering students. It's also a great opportunity to socialize and network with fellow engineers and geoscience students.

6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Registration and refreshments
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Presentations
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM: Networking and refreshments

Complimentary appetizers, tea, and coffee will be served at this event.

Speaker Topic

APEGBC staff will present an overview of certification and licensing in other countries. The presentation will include specifics and some cautions. Staff will also speak about how overseas experience (with Canadian companies and non-Canadian companies) factors into APEGBC licensure. The presentation will also touch on trade agreements of the future with respect to engineering services (such as the upcoming CETA).

An APEGBC member (Professional Engineers or Geoscientists) will give a presentation regarding their work outside of Canada and the impact it has had on their career.

This event is generously sponsored by: Andritz Automation (Platinum); Aplin Martin (Gold); Binnie, Graham Construction and EngineeringJensen Hughes Consulting, and Mainland Engineering (Silver); and R&R Utility Limited (Door Prize).
