The district energy plant, known as ‘Surrey City Energy’ is an award-winning City-owned district energy utility that extracts energy from low GHG-emission energy sources such as organic waste and geoexchange. The resulting heat and hot water is supplied to high-density residential, commercial and institutional buildings in City Centre.
The biofuel facility will process the City’s organic waste into a 100% renewable natural gas (RNG). The RNG will then be used to fuel the City's natural gas powered waste collection vehicles, its growing fleet of natural gas powered operations service vehicles, and provide a renewable fuel source for the new District Energy System.
Experts on the two facilities will also attend the lunch and be available to answer your questions.Participants are expected to provide their own transportation between venues. Please indicate on your registration if you need a ride or would prefer carpooling and we will make arrangements.
