Many professional engineers work for companies that aspire to develop, produce, and sell their products in large volume and with high gross margin. Business plans depend on it; investors expect it. The purpose of this workshop is to help engineers understand how the product development (PD) pieces fit together, and how to get the most out of their PD efforts. This will be done by going over the PD process, detailing the roles of each function, highlighting critical dependencies, and passing on best practices. A planning exercise will be held in order to gain new insights and accelerate learning.

This seminar is intended for professionals that work on specifying, designing, developing, and manufacturing new products, that want to optimize the product development cycle and avoid costly mistakes. The seminar covers the PD phases and the roles of the different functions throughout, plus includes a team-based exercise for an improved learning outcome. The seminar will also include a review of best practices.

Target audience

All professional engineers that have a stake in the success of new product development: design engineers, product managers, technical team leaders, CTO’s, VP’s Engineering, test and certification professionals, quality managers, as well as manufacturing and logistics professionals.
