Effective April 7, 2017, the Letters of Assurance (LOA) in the BC Building Code were amended by Ministerial Order M-158. These new Letters of apply to all building projects involving a building permit application submitted under the new the new Ministerial Order so that registered professionals can provide the relevant confirmation of compliance with the new provisions in the Energy Step Code.
Member advisories have been issued by Engineers and Geoscientists BC and AIBC to registered professionals in both professions regarding these changes to the Letters of Assurance. This seminar will review the member advisory as well as other changes. In addition, there will be an overall review of the Guide to the Letters of Assurance in the BC Building Code. Finally, during this seminar those present will have the opportunity to identify issues and concerns with the current Letters of Assurance. This information will be used to provide input to the updating of the Guide to the Letters of Assurance in the BC Building Code which is to come in 2018.
