It uses the world's largest ultraviolet disinfection facility and showcases a series of innovative features to maximize its energy efficiency. Extensive use has also been made of sustainable and environmental technologies in its design and construction. Please read full description below for directions to the facility.

The Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant (SCFP), located in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, is the largest drinking water filtration plant in Canada. Operating since 2009, it can treat up to 1.8 billion litres per day. The main drinking water treatment processes are filtration and UV. The building is LEED gold certified and includes EcoSmart Concrete, generates low CO2 emissions and uses less energy and water than conventional buildings.

The tour will be 2 hours long with the first half an hour dedicated to a technical presentation while the rest of the duration will allow the attendees to experience an interactive, very hands on and informative tour of the plant. View the online brochure of the plant.
