Join us for a presentation organized by the Okanagan Branch covering an innovative nanofiltration membrane water treatment technology. This technology has evolved from its earliest application in the maple industry to the treatment of municipal surface and groundwater water supply.

The talk will cover the stages from conceptual design to construction and will provide an overview of the quantity and quality issues in treating both surface and sub-surface sources. Two operational plants located at Lebel-Sur-Quévillon and Napierville, and their pilot studies will be briefly covered to provide an understanding of the process, its capabilities of removing high levels of organics, minerals and other contaminants, such as mercury and aluminum at a molecular level, as well as over 97% reduction in post-chlorination by-products such as THM’s. A description of process by-products will be presented along with energy and other operating costs.
