The Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Project (EGRT) includes a 2km, 10m diameter EPB TBM bored tunnel for light rail transit in Port Moody and Coquitlam. The lengthy bore in variable geology experienced several challenges but it has been safely completed. The presentation outlines the general features of the Project and the solutions implemented during tunneling, ground improvement, compressed air maintenance, and TBM repairs.

About the Speaker

Marco Moccichino
Associate, McMillen Jacobs Associates

Marco Moccichino was the Project Manager for the Evergreen Bored Tunnel. Marco’s experience spans several international projects through various project stages (preliminary design, detail design, risk analysis, and construction). Most recently, he has primarily focused on tunnel boring machine excavation methods and the features and structures involved in the mechanized excavation (intake shaft, retrieving shaft or portal, cross passages, site layout, and utilization requirements).
