Note: Please bring beach gear, sunscreen, and folding chairs for yourself and guests. If you have any items relating to the professions of engineering or geoscience, please bring for a show and tell with the kids.
Bring your family and friends to socialize in a fun and relaxed environment with your fellow engineers and geoscientists. We will be set up in the sheltered picnic area and will provide hotdogs and beverages.

We will organize some games, prizes and a skill testing scavenger hunt. The location is next to an excellent playground and an amazing shallow beach.

Schedule

1:00 PM: Hot Dogs and Mingle
2:00 PM: Games
5:00 PM: Closing

The Vancouver Island Branch has arranged for the sheltered picnic area in the Parksville Community Park. We will bring hot dogs, buns and non-alcoholic drinks. You are welcome to bring other food and beverages to the picnic. Adjacent to the picnic area, there is a fabulous playground, beach volley ball courts, tennis courts and beautiful sandy beach. The area has plenty of shady trees.

As part of the initiative is to bring greater awareness of the profession, we welcome anyone bringing engineering and geoscience related “show and tell” items to impress children. There will be games available for all age groups and a scavenger hunt style worksheet based on questions related to the profession with a prize. Expect one differential equation for bonus marks.

Sponsors

The Vancouver Island Branch is looking for sponsors for this event, to provide giveaways for kids, show and tell items and questions for our scavenger hunt. As a sponsor you would recieve recognition online and at the event. Please contact the branch at vi@egbc.ca
