Hardy Bartle is a BC-registered geological engineer. He is currently an employee of the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, Engineering Branch, Nanaimo. He has a lifelong interest in BC slope stability issues.
Hardy was first exposed to organic rich soils as a slope stability hazard as an undergraduate student at UBC in 1985. His first professional encounter with these soils, in a coastal BC forestry road construction accident, was 20 years ago in the mid coast of British Columbia near Rivers Inlet.
