Everyone faces tough conversations in their lives. Unfortunately, these conversations sometimes go poorly and when the stakes are high, this can result in negative and long-lasting impacts. As professionals, we need to learn when and how to handle tough conversations so that we can meet personal, professional, and organizational goals.

In this workshop, we explore why it's important to get better at having tough conversations. You will learn what makes conversations tough, what you can do about them, and how you can develop skills and processes for dealing with them constructively.

Workshop Objectives

  • Explore the impact of tough conversations and when and how to have them.
  • Learn how to create a communication environment that supports tough conversations.
  • Discover the steps involved in successfully navigating through a tough conversation.
  • Gain skills and strategies to manage oneself when the stakes are high.
  • Develop communication skills that promote understanding and resolution, and
  • Explore a process to resolve conflict and find a path forward.

  • Communication techniques for tough conversations.
