Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hosting a student and industry night at the University of Victoria. This fun and casual evening provides a great opportunity for industry professionals to share their knowledge, career anecdotes, and advice with engineering and geoscience students. It's also a great opportunity to socialize and network with fellow professionals.
 

Schedule

  • 6:30 PM–7:00 PM: Registration
  • 7:00 PM–8:00 PM: Presentation
  • 8:00 PM–9:00 PM: Networking

Complimentary appetizers, tea, and coffee will be served at the networking portion of this event.

Speaker

Susan Hayes, P.Eng., LEED AP BD+C, CPHC

Building Energy Advisor, Principal, Focal Engineering

Susan is a leader in the field of energy modelling in British Columbia. She is a mechanical engineer and project manager with nearly 15 years of experience and a passion for sustainability, which has been her career focus. She is the owner of Focal Engineering Inc, which she founded in 2015.

Susan is an avid supporter of diversity in engineering, energy modelling, and sustainability initiatives, and has substantial volunteer experience with Engineers and Geoscientists BC with Council, the Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division, the Sustainability Committee, and the Innovation Magazine Editorial Board. Ms. Hayes has an impressive volunteer history with several respected organizations such as IBPSA BC (the provincial energy modelling association) as Chair, the YWCA Metro Vancouver as a High School Mentor, Light House Sustainable Building Centre as a Director, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a triathlete, and World Vision as a Child Sponsor and volunteer for more than 20 years.
