Registration for the 2018 BC Building Code - CP Update Seminar presented by the Architectural Institute of BC and Engineers and Geoscientists BC, is now open for registration. The new 2018 BC Building and Plumbing Code will be effective December 10, 2018 and will apply to building permits applied for on or after that date.
The Certified Professional (CP) Seminar will focus on Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the BC Building Code, and include a session on City of Vancouver Building Bylaw upgrades currently implemented. Building and Safety Standards Branch will begin the day with an overview of the 2018 code. Participants will receive access to a BCBC 2018 List of Revisions and to the PowerPoint slides via a web link.

All CPs are required to attend an all-day session. Attendance, either live or online, is required to maintain CP status. Registration will be restricted to current CPs until October 1. After October 1 the registration will be open to any other registered professional or the trained staff.

The CP Seminar will be 7.5 Hours, eligible for continuing education credit and will earn AIBC Registrants 7.5 core learning units. The cost of this CP Seminar is $300. CPs must register before October 1 in order to secure a space and attend to maintain their CP status. There will be no CP upgrade exam for this BC Building Code edition. A new Vancouver Building Bylaw is anticipated in 2019; there will be a CP Seminar specific to changes in Vancouver in 2019.

Breakfast, lunch, and two refreshment breaks will be provided for onsite attendees.

Registrants who are unable to attend in person have the option of attending the course via webinar.
