Undergraduate UNBC engineering students do not pay a fee upon registration as the cost is already covered through the school.

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hosting a student and industry night at UNBC. This fun and casual evening provides a great opportunity for industry professionals to share their knowledge, career anecdotes, and advice with engineering and geoscience students. It's also a great opportunity to socialize and network with fellow colleagues.

Event Information

  • 6:30 PM–7:00 PM: Registration and networking
  • 7:00 PM–8:00 PM: Presentation and panel
  • 8:00 PM– 9:00 PM: Networking

Panelists

This event will feature panelists from the Prince George area. Students may wish to come prepared with questions. Panelists include:

Katherine Clark, EIT

Transportation Engineer, McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd.

Katherine Clark graduated in 2016 with a joint UNBC/UBC degree in environmental engineering. During university, she worked for Associated Engineering for one summer and completed a 16-month work-term for the Town of Canmore as part of the UBC co-op program. After graduation, she worked for SLR Consulting in the field of contaminated sites. Katherine then joined McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. as a transportation engineer and has been with the company since September 2017. In her current role, she works on multi-disciplinary teams, building skills in proposal writing, community engagement, transportation planning, and civil design. Katherine works with clients such as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, ICBC, and municipalities across BC and Alberta.

Matthew Waldie, EIT

Environmental Engineer, Waterline Resources Inc.

Matt Waldie graduated with distinction from UNBC and UBC, with a major in environmental engineering and a minor in First Nations Studies. He has worked in the oil and gas, sawmill, bioenergy power, landfill, and mining industries. Currently, Matt is a project engineer for Waterline Resources, a hydrogeological consulting company. His role entails groundwater well installation and monitoring, as well as project management and business development.
