Join the East Kootenay Branch for a tour of the Skookumchuck Paper Pulp Mill. The branch will also be inviting the first year engineering students from the College of the Rockies. Members are encouraged to interact with the students and discuss the engineering profession. After the event, attendees can arrange an optional dinner together in Cranbrook.

Saftey Orientation

Each visiting member must complete the mill site Safety Orientation Program before the mill site tour can begin. Upon completion, please have a printed copy of the certificate of completion at the event. Instructions for the program can be found in the document below.

Protective Equipment

Attendees are asked to wear: Full sleeved shirt/jacket, full covered trousers, full toe covered boots. If available steel toed boots are recommended.

The mill will provide attendees with a safety hard hat, googles, hearing protection and a safety vest. If you wish to bring your own equipment, that is optional.

Ride Share from Cranbrook

There will be a carpool leaving Cranbrook from the Staples Store parking lot at Tamarack Mall at 1:45 PM.
