About the OQM Program

Engineers and Geoscientists BC's Organizational Quality Management (OQM) Program has been developed to improve the quality management of professional engineering and geoscience practices at the individual and organizational level. This voluntary program offers certification to participating organizations, including sole practitioners.

The OQM program is based on the seven quality management requirements in the Engineers and Geoscientist Act and the Engineers and Geoscientists BC bylaws. All members must meet these seven quality management requirements. OQM Certified organizations must have policies and procedures that support these seven requirements.

There are many benefits to OQM Certification. Depending on the organizations area of practice, its size (sole practitioners included), and the products and/or services it offers, the benefits may significantly differ. One thing that remains consistent is that OQM Certification benefits your business, clients, and ultimately the public.

Realize the benefits of having your firm OQM Certified:
  • Insurance Discount
  • Recognition/Brand Building
  • Industry Demand
  • Efficiency
  • Random Practice Review Exemption
  • Risk Management
  • Connection/Relevance
  • Compliance
  • Education

This session will cover the quality management requirements and how to get your firm OQM Certified.

For more information on OQM Certification visit www.egbc.ca/oqm.
