Last year the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Victoria Branch outreach volunteers presented to over 1,000 students between the ages of 11–18 on careers in engineering and geoscience. Presentations are at schools and to small student groups, such as the Girl Guides. In addition to school workshops, there are other exciting career awareness opportunities at events like Math Challengers, Science Fairs, and National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) activities.
Volunteering for Career Awareness activities is an excellent way to inspire future generations of engineers and geoscientists while earning professional development credits.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Victoria Branch’s Career Awareness volunteer team, we encourage you to attend this workshop to learn more.
