Senior Process Engineer, Water
Wayne is a senior process engineer with AECOM in Burnaby who specializes in municipal wastewater treatment in subject areas such as sewage heat recovery and integrated resource recovery. Wayne has comprehensive experience over the past 12 years completing engineering consulting assignments related to municipal wastewater treatment for clients in BC and in the US, including capacity and condition assessments, master planning, pre-design, detailed design, procurement, contract administration, and construction management. In recent years Wayne has worked primarily with Metro Vancouver providing project management and client advisory services on projects such as the Annacis Island WWTP Stage 5 Expansion and the North Shore WWTP project.
Outside of AECOM, Wayne is active in the industry having served as past chair of the Wastewater and Residuals Management Committee at BCWWA. You will also find Wayne at UBC periodically giving guest lectures to students in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Wayne is an active technical reviewer for the WERF-LIFT program and was previously a technical reviewer for the Water Environment Federation special publications UV Disinfection in Wastewater and Nutrient Roadmap published in 2015.

Joan is a senior project engineer with Metro Vancouver who specializes in project management for large-scale programs and infrastructures in both water treatment and wastewater treatment divisions. Joan has advanced knowledge in alternative procurement method including leading the design-build-finance procurement process for the North Shore Wastewater Treatment program, in particular the Conveyance project. She is also an advocate for mentoring and providing growth opportunities for engineers, and has been a key committee member of the Engineering-in-Training Program in Metro Vancouver.
