This webinar is targeted for engineering professionals who design retaining walls, for owners who are hiring professionals, and for those responsible for permitting or approving projects that include retaining walls. The seminar will touch on the common level of expectation for various stakeholders with respect to the level of effort, due diligence, and standard of practice to be followed when designing and constructing retaining walls in BC.
Garry has over 40 years of geotechnical engineering experience in investigation, design, and construction. His experience is primarily in the transportation and heavy civil (hydroelectric and water supply) fields. He has a B.A.Sc. in geological engineering from the University of British Columbia and an M.Eng. in civil engineering from the University of Alberta.
As Manager of the Professional Practice Advice Program at Engineers and Geoscientists BC, Amy is responsible for overseeing the team that assists members with professional practice-related issues. This includes practice advice services, practice guideline development, practice committee support, and external stakeholder engagement regarding practice issues that affect members. Ms. Fehr is a registered professional engineer with experience in various fields related to civil engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. She spent over 15 years as a consulting engineer performing roles related to structural engineering, hydrotechnical engineering, and quality management before joining the association in 2017.
