Climate 2050: Planning for a Carbon Neutral Region

Speakers

Nicole Chan, M.Sc., P.Eng.

Metro Vancouver

Nicole is a professional engineer currently leading the development of the Climate 2050 Energy Roadmap¸ a strategic initiative to bring the Metro Vancouver region to carbon neutrality by 2050. Prior to her role at Metro Vancouver, she worked with the City of Vancouver at the Neighbourhood Energy Utility (NEU). She was primarily a project manager, leading various projects including the NEU's expansion of their low carbon generation capacity through installation of a new 5 MW heat pump, as well as providing technical and financial modelling support, most notably for the >$50 milliion long-term expansion plan of the NEU. She has a Master’s of Mechanical Engineering (Environmental Stream) and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering (Biomedical) and graduated with distinction in both.

Sheryl Cumming, P.Eng.
