This evening will consist of a dinner and panel discussion at the University of Victoria University Club. Five local industry experts have been chosen to discuss smart building topics, particularly with regards to data management and cybersecurity. The panel discussion will be led by Dr. RIham AlTawy, Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria, whose research interests include the IoT (Internet of Things), blockchains, and cryptography. Today's buildings are becoming more intelligent, more complex, and more sustainable. Smart buildings collect and manage data for energy consumption, waste, comfort, and security. This data can be difficult to manage and secure. In this panel discussion we bring a variety of industry experts to discuss the latest innovation, challenges, and strategies for data management and cybersecurity.
