Approx. 20 km past the Castlegar airport turnoff on the way to Nelson (about 2 km north of Playmor Junction). Turn right at the Dam Inn, then next right. Park at south end of first new building and walk to second building to meet tour guide.

Event Description


This new facility is North America's most advanced, vertically-integrated, multi-species mass timber facility. Through this state-of-the-art 110,000 sq. ft plant, Kalesnikoff Lumber produces efficient, responsible, and safe Cross-Laminated Timber panels (CLT), Glue-Laminated Timber panels (GLT), and Glulam beams that are innovating traditional building practices.

CEO, Kalesnikoff Lumber

Chris Kalesnikoff has hands-on experience in the operation of every piece of equipment at Kalesnikoff Lumber. After studying business at Medicine Hat College and Queens University he returned to Kalesnikoff Lumber as a front line leader in 2008, and is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the mill. In 2017 he was named as a winner in the Canadian Forest Industries Top 10 Under 40 contest.
