The purpose of this seminar is to assist managers increase their effectiveness managing direct reports and other people they may become responsible for managing.

Seminar Description

Participants will learn the various management styles for managing direct reports with assigned tasks, based on the perceived skill and motivation level of their direct reports. This is called "Situational Leadership."

The seminar concludes with participants learning and developing competency using a powerful process for managing accountability. This process can have a profound impact on a manager's ability to lead people effectively.

Learning Outcomes

  • Participants will be able to operate various management styles to manage each direct report effectively.
  • Participants will discern their default management style, and which style they would most like to increase.
  • Participants will be able to employ key processes for providing effective feedback.
  • Participants will be able to utilize a powerful process for managing accountability.

Founder & President, INSPIRE CANADA

Michael is the Founder & President of INSPIRE CANADA (inspire), a boutique organization development firm.

Since 2007, Michael has assisted Engineering and Technology companies with their organization and leadership development needs. He and his team support organizations across Canada, providing a suite of services ranging from Executive Team development, through to Leadership Development workshops.

Michael completed his Master's degree in Organization & Leadership Development with LIOS, Leadership Institute of Seattle at Saybrook University. Through the program, Michael was fortunate to learn from one of the first students of Kurt Lewin—"the father of Organization Development"—and senior leaders of Leadership Development at both Microsoft HQ and Amazon HQ. He was given special access to Amazon's Leading at Scale™ program with permission to incorporate for his clients. This program assists leaders successfully lead transformational change initiatives.

He is known for his expertise, humour, and kindness in assisting leaders build greater leadership capacity for themselves.
